Are you about to expire?

I know what your first thought might have been, and the answer is "I hope not!" but the real question is:
Is your Utah VHF Society Membership about to expire?

You may recall the membership in the Utah VHF Society is based on the calendar year:  If you pay $12 in 2013, and you are good until the end of 2013 and because of this most people "re-up" their membership near the end of the previous year or sometime in the beginning of the new year.

If you are planning to come to the Utah VHF Society annual swap meet (read about it here - link) then your admission is included in the $12/year membership and if you pay beforehand either via check or PayPal, you'll be handed the booklet as you enter and you won't have to wait in line behind those who choose to pay at the swap meet!

If you do come to the swap meet, remember that if you aren't a VHF Society member, you will  not get a booklet with nice maps and an up-to-date Utah repeater listing.  If you do come to the swap meet and pay your $5 membership, remember that you'd need pay only another $7 at that time to join and get a booklet and get the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting one of the largest groups that benefits repeater operation in the state!

How to pay:

As mentioned above, you can renew/join the Utah VHF Society beforehand one of two convenient ways:
  • The old-fashioned way via check.
  • Via PayPal
Rather than give the boring details here and further clutter this page, just go to the page:
How to Join/Renew membership in the Utah VHF Society - link
to get all of the details!

If you "re-up" within a few week before the swap meet, we'll be sure to include you in the member listing in the booklet - that is, if you want to be!

Don't forget about the 2013 Utah VHF Society Swapmeet that is scheduled to start at 8 AM (7AM setup for vendors) on February 23, 2013.

The 2013 UVHFS swapmeet will be at a new location - the Davis County Fairgrounds in Building #2 see the previous entry (link) for directions on getting to this new venue.

If you've never been to the Davis County Fairgrounds - or have forgotten details, one of the key landmarks is the intersection of 1100 West and Clark Lane - which is also 100 North.  At this intersection you would go south a couple of blocks, following a white fence on your left.

lot at the Davis County fairgrounds.

At this point the north end of the Davis County Fairgrounds is one your left and as you can see in the picture above, there's a long exhibition building.

A bit past this building there is a break in the fence where you can see two entrances onto a paved parking lot:  Go into either entrance.

Once you are in the parking lot, find your way toward the south end and down there you'll see some more buildings and, hopefully, a bunch of cars with callsign license plates, strange-looking antennas and, possibly, strange-looking people hauling their valuable junque into a building!

What you are looking for is building #2 - a large, blue building with a flagpole out front and a large, white garage-type door.

When you park, please be conscious of the needs of those who require special access and of those who may be lugging in something that is particularly large and heavy, leaving enough space near the sidewalk for them to gain access.

Below, you will find a simple map showing the location of the fairgrounds and building #2 with respect to the other roads and the Davis County Sheriff's office to the east.

See you there!
